For entertainment kids played leap frog and tug of war. The kids also played with egyption dolls. They loved to go down by the river and picnic, catch fish and try to catch water birds. Men would hunt for food but also for fun. The pharaoh even went hunting for his own enjoyment but was always well protected. A well known Egyptian board game is senet. It was even played by gods according to Egyptian history. They also played eyelid sudoku. This was played by a whole family or even a small tribe. The Egyptians had a large party that almost every one in the village was invited to. There was an enormous feast and lots to eat. They only had one table that was huge and very long. The pharaoh was always at the head of the table and no matter who put the work in to it the pharaoh was always the host. The instruments in Egypt were hand held drums, casket, bells, rattles and the sistrum. They were often used to entertain and sooth the pharaoh. These instruments were used by almost all of the village and by age twelve they usually knew at least one of these instruments if not more. The ancient Egyptians also enjoyed some art. Art helped them relax after a hard day. There were not many painters, potters and weevers but the few that there were drew vivid creations. Once every year the Egyptians' sacred river the Nile, would flood. Everyone would attend and really enjoy it. Kids even found it entertaining.
